OUR HISTORY

Faber Fairchild McCurdy is a continuation of the longstanding, highly respected firm Adelstein, Sharpe & Serka which has served our business community since 1974.

Jeff Fairchild and Mitch Faber were long-time partners with Steve Adelstein, Phil Sharpe and Phil Serka, until they retired from the practice to…well…we do not actually know what they are doing. Steve, Phil and Phil set the standard for helping clients achieve their broader objectives through exceptional legal work.

  • Steven P. Adelstein is a Bellingham native and practiced law in Whatcom County beginning in 1974. Steve focused his practice on commercial and construction litigation, and served on innumerable nonprofit boards during his time at the firm.

  • Very few people do not know Philip E. Sharpe who, in addition to his business practice, served as special counsel of the United States Senate Labor Committee and general counsel to United States Senator Brock Adams. Phil served as a Western Washington University trustee, a Whatcom Community College trustee, and as a frequent fundraiser for local causes and charities.

  • Philip A. Serka began practicing in 1976 and developed a particular expertise in real estate and land use, and frequently spoke on these topics. Phil helped numerous local organizations ranging from the Arthritis Foundation to the Museum of Northwest Art, and is a highly regarded expert in Northwest art.
